I've been MIA. Super busy (This is good), but no excuse for not communicating.
Here's some news:
The studio has a new website: MONOLisaNYC.com
The gear list is there, as well as directions and all sorts of other studio-centric info.
Check it out!
I've had the pleasure of working with a lot of amazing people this past 3 months since the opening.
It started with NYFA's Gingerbread movie musical short. Composer: Rob Rokicki, Arranger: Mark Fifer, Director: VP Boyle, Editor: Sean Robinson. All of these guy worked tirelessly to make this movie a reality. I'm a proud member of the production team!
We tracked the band at A Bloody Good Record, and recorded vocals and ODs at MONOLisa. Trial by fire!
Then came Pontiac Blue. A very cool blues band hailing from Chatanooga, TN. My longtime friend and Producer, Ivan Bodley, got in touch because he needed a place to mix. And I had JUST the place!
It was super fun working with Ivan and the band. The results were great!
I'll let you know when that record hits the net.
Next up was a project I just finished up, TV pilot, Drama Mamas. Its a musical format, and super fun! I'll give you more info once I see the show, LOL we've just finished the music, and what music! Composer Andrew Gerle did an AMAZING job.,
Once again I found myself working with Arranger, Mark Fifer and Director, VP Boyle. We tracked the band at The Engine Room in lower Manahattan. Super fun day that was! Excellent studio, amazing musicians. You couldnt' ask for a better day!
The vocals and the mix were all completed at MONOLisa. YAY!
In the meantime, I've been working with a young up and coming songwriter named Annalise. She's quite talented and a joy to work with. Also in the studio this past month were, my longtime friends, The Halley Devestern Band, joined by The CNP Horns.
Bigger than Buildings has been keeping us busy with vocal OD sessions featuring Producer Frequency, and artists, Krissy Krissy and Joell Ortiz.
So yeah, outside of adding gear and artwork to the space, it's been pretty non-stop. (Not that I mind)
We'll have our ProTools HD system in place once things quiet down a bit for a few tech days. Until then, the native system has been in perfect working order and the room has been a huge success!
I am so grateful to have a studio to call home, and clients who inspire me every day.
Life is good.
