We were super lucky. Our neighborhood was pretty much unscathed, we had power the whole time, but dang, did Sandy do a number on this city. The subways are almost back up and running on a normal schedule, but NJT is still a mess. Rich and I decided to go and volunteer for a day with the "Occupy Sandy" movement. They are doing a tremendous job in helping folks out. Rich and I went to Costco and picked up some supplies on their "need" list, and then cooked for about 6 hours and loved every minute of it. Turns out we helped to feed over 7 THOUSAND people. Crazy.

I think for much of the city the worst is over, but in parts of Queens and Staten Island, Long Island, and the NJ coast, every day is a challenge. My heart goes out to those who last their homes, their businesses or loved ones.
